The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has undertaken a major initiative to implement the installation of Special Energy Meters (SEMs) for individual wind mills in the state. This initiative will allow for more efficient energy metering and ensure the safety of the equipment in the windmills. The SEMs come with isolators and set of CT PT which measures and ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the machines. The SEMs along with transformers are to be tested by MSEDCL, and they are certified MSEDCL standards. The SEMs also come with high-quality earthing to ensure maximum efficiency and safety.<\/p>

The Special Energy Meter or SEM is an individual energy metering system that\u2019s installed on each windmill. It helps to measure the energy output of the windmill as such, which makes it easier to optimize the energy usage and ensure the safe functioning of the machine. Further Tested SEM of L& T make or Secure Make will be installed in Meter cabinet in case of Outdoor CT PT and in case of Indoor CTPT a Metering cubical is used in which SEM is fitted safely . In metering system CMRI , Meter to computer connector cod , SEM Meter software , AMR medium these are some important devices required on site .<\/p>

ABT SEM are mainly classified -1 Amp and -5 Amp as per their end use and Clint specification. SEM Meter is a media where we can measure units of exported and unit of Imported . That\u2019s why this SEM also called as Import export Meter .As of now in Market L & T , Secure ,Elester , HPL these brands are available in SEM metering .Many new brands also entering this sector shortly .These meter required atleast 72 Hours Testing in Testing Lab th=o check its all parameters defined by electrical board . Isolators are essential in the in the windmills electrical system . Isolators are erected either on Isolator GI support structure provided by manufacture or Isolators can be installed on Two-pole RSJ pole structure . Capacity of 33 KV 800 amp off-load isolator , 33kv 400 Amp off-load isolator , 22 KV 800 amp off-load isolator , 22 kv 400 Amp off-load isolator, 11 KV 800 amp off-load isolator , 11kv 400 Amp off-load isolator. In case of RSJ Pole mounting arrangement of isolator 6 meters of operating pipe is used to operate the Isolator . Which help in the safe functioning of the isolators. Along outdoor isolator other equipment\u2019s such as current transformers (CTs) , voltage transformers (PTs) , Lighting arrester (LA) are mounted on poles . All the equipment should be MSEDCL and Electrical utility approved. The SEM is connected to a two-pole arrangement which helps to isolate any parts of the machines in case of failure of any equipment in system . This helps to shut down the entire energy feeder in a reliable manner.In context of separating of individual wind mill with SEM may need to extend the Overhead line work and Isolator installation to separate the existing unit from group of Machines .<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Wind turbines in wind farms generate electricity, which is then transferred to the grid via electrical substations . In a wind farm, the electrical substation is in charge of collecting the electrical power generated by the wind turbines and changing the voltage to a level suitable for transmission to the grid. The substation also includes equipment that regulates the flow of electricity from wind turbines to the grid and guarantees that power is stable and reliable. A transformer, Isolator disconnector switchgear, Lighting arrester ,HT Cable , Jointing Kit ,SEM Meter , SEM Meter Cabinet or Metering koish and other electrical equipment are typically included in a substation near every Wind mill .
